Welcome To Lorna's Place
Just Pictures and Stuff
Let's see....the last time I updated this page was in 2007? Only 4 years ago, although I suspect it's probably 5. Time to get some new pictures and stuff on here, to say nothing of updating my life story, you think?
Flash!
First of all, I am not employed anymore. Bostitch is supposedly closing on December 2, 2011 and I've been out since August, 2010. HOWEVER, I am going to school at New England Institute of Technology as an IT major and am on the Dean's List and will be Phi Theta Kappa.
Secondly, Gerry has been in failing health for quite a while and is now in a nursing facility. It may not be permanent but highly unlikely he can function on his own.
Thirdly, my mom died unexpectedly in October 2010 of apparent heart failure. She was feeding her cats when she collapsed in her kitchen. The neighbor called the police and they had the medical examiner over before I even got there. She was elderly and had been having problems the whole year: she totalled her car, got involved in some kind of elder-scam, had to be hospitalized that June and wasn't eating at all. I was buying her food and she apparenlty was eating it, but she wouldn't ask for transportation after her car was gone. My Aunt Beverly died this last March too. She was in her seventies and could have lived a few more years, but she was sickly.
In some ways it's been a good 12 months and in others it's been horrible. That's life.
Taken on June 12th, 2011.
The yard hasn't changed much since 2007. Have more grass and less railroad track. The pond is bigger, but we have a blue heron that likes to eat the fish, so it's always coverd in netting. The trees are bigger and the lilacs bloom like crazy. I've been spending my off-time trimming stuff because we've been practically taken over by greenery.
Okay, not quite like the picture belows shows. A tree fell from next door onto one of my cars and also my stairway. I was fighting to get down so I could see what was going on. I had to have a street tree taken down a couple of months ago because it looked like it was going to fall on top of a passing car. Weird year for trees.
